In response to the recent U.S. push for reciprocal tariffs, Century Iron & Steel Industrial Co. (Ticker: 9958) stated that its products are primarily supplied to the local Taiwanese market and infrastructure projects in the Asia-Pacific region, and are not exported to the United States. Therefore, the company is not affected by this policy, and its operations remain stable.
Century Iron & Steel emphasized that the company has long focused on offshore wind power, bridge construction, and large-scale steel structures. With the continued advancement of Taiwan's domestic green energy projects and public infrastructure, related orders have been steadily increasing. Revenue for the first quarter of 2025 grew by more than double digits year-on-year, reflecting strong fundamentals. The company expects both revenue and profit for the full year to reach new highs.
In addition, regarding the recent earthquake in Myanmar that damaged local infrastructure, Century Iron & Steel noted that it has a production base in the country. Fortunately, the plant and equipment were not damaged, and all personnel are safe.
The company added that the local market in Myanmar is expected to see reconstruction opportunities in the aftermath of the disaster. With its advanced technology and regional manufacturing presence, Century Iron & Steel will actively pursue reconstruction project orders in Myanmar and surrounding Southeast Asian countries, aiming to boost its export momentum.
Century Iron & Steel stressed that, in the face of global trade shifts, it will continue to strengthen its R&D capabilities and regional deployment to maintain supply chain flexibility and competitive advantage, steadily progressing toward the international green energy and infrastructure markets.
